Change of song (29/09/16)

The original song that  we have chosen (Jay Silva- No Way) is scheduled to have a music video coming out 29/09/16 as he posted on instagram as a result of this we had a choice of whether to continue with the song however if an idea or concept is the same in his video and our video we would automatically be losing marks or find a new song out of the alternatives we have researched and start from the beginning.
As a result we have decided that we would be looking for a new song that would have the same moral message so we can use all the planning that we put into our video concept into the new song and not have the planning process go to waste. So as a result we are having discussions on what the new song should be.

The Infinite Mix (28/09/16)

Today we went on a media trip to the infinite mix exhibition in strand. This was an exhibition in which artists would bring together the elements of sound and image together to explore a way of how these artists explored historical and cultural tension. The artists had composed, commissioned or remixed soundtracks in relation to their work so the viewer would be able to use noise and images to gain a deeper understanding of the image. The pieces ranged from multi screen projection to holograms. The use of this came in relation to the project as this gave a sense of location and camera shots that could be used in the music video.

Video Pitch

In this pitch we presented our ideas for the music video that we were planning to do. In this we listed out potential location that we would use to a focus group to review the ideas we proposed for the music video. In this we listed the track and influences for the video so we can show how we came to the conclusion of the track we are going to do and what concepts of those videos are we using to develop our own. In this we used clips of Chris Brown's "Loyal" as we wanted to use the escalator interaction for our own video as well as showing Chips "#Alone" for the restaurant location as we wanted to use that concept for the outro segment of our song. The final clip we used for inspiration was Tion Wayne's "Me or the lifestyle"as we wanted to use that concept of boy meets girl interaction for the bases of our video as Jay Silva's "No way" was a love song.

Treatment (26/09/16)

In today's lesson we pitched the ideas our music video to a focus group to be able to receive questions and ideas in which we could use to influence our music video as well as see which parts we need to make clearer to the audience in the song. In this we stated the props, locations and amounts of people going to featured in the video.

Evaluation of the song (Jay Silva - No Way)

Storyline
The song that we have chosen is a grime single from Jay Silva released september 14th 2016, the story behind the song is about how a man (Jay Silva) who was once poor to the point where he was just another face in the crowd had now had a turn around in life to the point he is now wealthy and doing successful in life. As a result the women are trying to get close to him as a result of his turn around in life. So in our video we are going to be representing the turn around in his life and how women are attempting to get close to him.

One thing that we have seen in the song is that it has allot of swearing withing the audio however, we have come up with the solution that when editing we could turn down the volume on those parts to make it more appropriate.

Final Video preperation

In this lesson we were looking at the possible songs that we were going to do, in this we back-tracked to our case studies to look at the theme that we have been analysing as a final and plausible final song. As a group we have seen that we have been researching rap/grime songs os, we have decided that because of our researched songs were of those  genres we can use the knowledge we have acquired from the case study research to influence the song and video selection.
In addition we have also been seeing a consistent trend of a storyline being in the videos we have selected as we have looked at Kendrick Lamar's Bitch don't kill my vibe which is primarily about not letting tragic situations ruin your mood and "Swimming Pools" which was about resisting the temptations of alcoholism.
As a result we have looked at the following songs:

#1 -Jay Silva (No way)
#2 -Yung Fumes (Decline)
#3 -Avelino (Youniverse)
#4 -Tinie Tempah ft Giggs (Lock doe)
#5 -Travis Scott ft Quavo (Oh my dis side)
#6  -Section Boyz (Brand New)
#7 -Jahkoy (Poison)
#8 -Big Sean (Stay Down)

Today we concluded the filming aspect of the task and started editing the clips that were shot. The software that was used was adobe premier cc which was the same that was used the first time. During this we got a brief tutorial on how to import files from the camera's SD card to the hard drive and from their to adobe premier. During this time we got all of the clips that we were planning to use and started chopping the useful clips with the backing track.
